Terms and Conditions
Last updated: July 2026
These terms and conditions apply to the sale of all puppies by Fox River Therapy Dogs. By placing a deposit or purchasing a puppy, you confirm you have read and accepted these terms in full. No part of these terms is negotiable.
Intended Purpose
All puppies sold by Fox River Therapy Dogs are raised and sold strictly as family companions. They must not under any circumstances be used for any form of work, including but not limited to paid or unpaid work, guarding or security roles, emotional support, therapy, service or assistance duties, or any structured functional work purpose.
Breeding Prohibition
No puppy sold by Fox River Therapy Dogs may be used for breeding purposes under any circumstances. This includes stud, mating, or reproduction of any kind, whether intentional or unintentional. Any breach of this condition constitutes a serious breach of contract.
Sterilisation Policy
All puppies are sterilised prior to leaving our care by an RCVS-registered veterinary professional. Each puppy remains with us until they have fully recovered from sterilisation and received their second vaccination.
In exceptional circumstances where sterilisation cannot be completed prior to sale due to veterinary advice, health considerations, or timing constraints, the buyer agrees to arrange sterilisation no later than 9 months of age and provide written veterinary confirmation upon completion. In this circumstance, we will contribute up to £200 toward the cost upon receipt of an itemised veterinary invoice. Failure to comply constitutes a breach of contract.
Age of Collection
Puppies are typically ready to leave at 12–14 weeks of age, following recovery from sterilisation and receipt of their second vaccination. If a longer stay is required for health reasons, the veterinarian's decision is final and does not entitle the buyer to compensation or a refund, except where explicitly stated in these terms.
If a puppy must remain with us for more than 4 weeks beyond the expected collection date and no suitable alternative puppy is available, the sale will be cancelled and a full refund issued, including any visiting fee paid.
Deposits and Visiting Fees
Payment of a deposit or visiting fee confirms your intent to proceed with a purchase. Visiting fees are non-refundable except where explicitly stated in these terms. Deposits are forfeited in cases of failure to collect or breach of contract.
Collection Day
On the agreed collection date, the buyer must arrive on time, bring valid photographic ID confirming their identity, ensure full payment has cleared, and arrive with suitable and safe transport including an appropriate carrier and temperature control. Only the named buyer and one accompanying adult may attend. Children must be supervised at all times. Suitable clothing and footwear must be worn; no liability is accepted for slips, trips, or clothing damage on the premises.
Late Collection
If the buyer fails to collect the puppy on the agreed date, a boarding fee of £50 per day applies to cover food, care, time, and continued socialisation. Additional veterinary costs may be added where applicable. All outstanding balances must be paid on the originally agreed collection date. If payment is not received within 72 hours of the agreed date, the puppy will be placed back up for sale and the deposit forfeited. A maximum delay of 14 days is permitted, provided full payment is made on the original agreed collection date.
Photography and Recording
No photographs, videos, or audio recordings may be taken on the premises at any time. No images of the breeder, home, property, or puppies may be shared or posted online. All puppy photographs supplied by Fox River Therapy Dogs remain our property.
Buyer Responsibilities
By purchasing a puppy, the buyer agrees to have the puppy examined by a vet within 72 hours of collection and provide evidence of this, provide suitable food, water, shelter, grooming, and care at all times, maintain vaccinations and attend veterinary appointments as required, and provide training, affection, and a stable home environment. Veterinary insurance is strongly advised and is mandatory for a minimum of one year following collection.
Return and Rehoming
If you are no longer able to care for your puppy at any point in its life, you must contact us in the first instance before making any other arrangements. We will accept the puppy back, provide safe accommodation, and responsibly rehome where necessary. A partial refund may be considered at our discretion, based on time elapsed, the puppy's condition, veterinary needs, and rehoming costs.
Ownership Transfer
Ownership of the puppy transfers to the buyer only once full payment has cleared, the sales agreement has been signed by both parties, and all welfare checks have been completed. No refunds will be issued after collection except where explicitly stated in these terms.
No Guarantees
The puppy is a living animal. No guarantees are given regarding adult size, coat type, temperament, or suitability for any purpose beyond family companionship.
Force Majeure
Fox River Therapy Dogs is not liable for delays or failure to fulfil obligations due to events beyond our reasonable control, including veterinary emergencies or transport disruption.
Breach of Contract
Any breach of these terms will be pursued through appropriate legal action.
Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
